If you've met me you'll have noticed that I'm overweight. I really hate the 'O' word (obese), so I'll stick to using 'fat' if that's ok. So, I'm fat, but what you may not know is that 2 years ago I was 30kg heavier. However, I've gone through a number of lifestyle changes, which I used my hypnotherapy skills to achieve the following goals: I wanted to reduce my weight and have my diabetes under good control, so that I could get my chronic pain under control. So, I completed an 8 week weight management programme, and managed to lose 30kg since starting the course. I'm still losing weight too, just more slowly...and more sustainably...than I've ever done before. I can only really speak about fatness in British culture, as that is the culture which I've been part of, for the last 47 years. However, I do feel that identical outcomes could be expected for any Western civilised society.
