What is anxiety? According to Medline Plus, anxiety is a feeling of fear, dread, and uneasiness. It is a common issue that affects many people. Mental Health Foundation explain that in 2022/23, an average of 37.1% of women and 29.9% of men reported high levels of anxiety The main characteristics of anxiety include excessive worrying, muscle tension, and a sense of dread, all of which can disrupt daily life and overall functioning. If left untreated, anxiety can worsen, leading to insomnia, a weakened immune system, and strained social relationships. Skeptical about hypnotherapy?

Unfortunately, some people are skeptical of hypnotherapy (I blame the stage hypnotists) and for those people I say this to you... I understand your skepticism about hypnotherapy. It's important to distinguish between clinical hypnotherapy and stage hypnosis. Clinical hypnotherapy is a legitimate therapeutic technique used to help individuals overcome various challenges, and it's supported by a growing body of scientific research. As a clinical hypnotherapist with over a decade of experience, registered with the General Hypnotherapy Register (GHR), and with a background in nursing, I can assure you that the techniques I use are safe ethical, and effective (obviously I can't comment on safety of other hypnosis practitioners).
