Inner Calm (and Zen Den) Sessions

Inner Calm: A Guided Midweek Reset. This page is for both those who have and who have not yet booked their Inner Calm session. If you have any further questions, please direct them to Louise 07808 931714.

Cosy space with 4 bedsWhat Are Inner Calm and Zen Den Sessions?

Inner Calm is a gentle, 60-minute guided relaxation space designed to help you unwind, rebalance and gently breathe again—midweek. It’s not therapy. It’s not performance. It’s just a calm, structured space to rest your nervous system with supportive guidance, peaceful cues and sensory grounding. No pressure, no probing—just quiet time for your mind and body. Zen Den is our men-only Inner Calm class.

Who Are These Sessions For?

Anyone feeling overwhelmed, overthinking, emotionally tired or just in need of a proper pause. You don’t need to know how to meditate or “switch off”—that’s my job. You simply come as you are and let the space do the rest!

What Are The Benefits Of Guided Relaxation Sessions?

  • Emotionally lighter – Less caught in loops of overthinking or internal noise
  • More grounded – A felt sense of stability and presence, especially after busy or reactive weeks
  • Mentally clearer – A natural softening of brain fog, without needing to “do” anything
  • Physically settled – Lower muscle tension, steadier breathing, and fewer jitters
  • More self-connected – A quiet reconnection with personal rhythm, needs, and boundaries
  • Able to exhale again – A simple but powerful moment to reset the nervous system

Who’s Leading the Sessions?

Louise Franks clinical hypnotherapist and guided relaxation therapist

I’m Louise—a relaxation specialist with a nursing background and years of experience helping people feel calmer, safer, and more themselves. While I’m also a clinical hypnotherapist, these sessions aren’t hypnotherapy and they’re certainly not about suggestions or probing the mind. What Inner Calm borrows from my experience is the ability to create gentle, secure spaces where people can relax fully, without judgement or expectation. I understand what burnout feels like. I build spaces that treat people gently.

If you’ve heard of hypnotherapy and thought “that’s not for me,” please know: Inner Calm isn’t that. You won’t be “put under,” analysed, or expected to “perform” relaxation. Instead, you’ll be guided kindly into rest—with cues, stories and moments designed simply to soothe. That’s it.

Where Are The Sessions Held?

In person at Eastthorpe Hall in Mirfield, West Yorkshire. It’s a beautifully calm, naturally lit studio tucked away from the rush of the world. Quiet, soft and welcoming—no clinical lights or ticking clocks. Just a warm space where comfort comes first.

When Do Sessions Run?

We currently have one regular session, which runs on a Wednesday 6.30 – 7.30 pm. Please arrive 10 minutes early so we can help you settle upstairs and begin on time, calmly and without rush.

Other trial sessions are held occasionally, such as day time and men-only classes.

How Much Does It Cost?

£25 per session or £90 for four sessions, when pre-paid in one block.

How Do I Book?

Please text or WhatsApp me directly: 07808 91714 and I’ll send a payment link, where you can pay by debit/credit card or digital wallet. Places are confirmed once payment is received on a first-come-first-served basis.

What Should I Wear?

Wear something you can sit or lie down in without feeling restricted. Think yoga pants or joggers and t-shirts if that’s how you’d normally feel most comfortable. I’m not going to stop you selecting a cocktail dress, if that’s your jam, but you will need to be able to get onto a bed or low chair.

What If I Have Specific Mobility or Sensory Needs?

Seating option 2I’d love to discuss these with you to make sure I can meet them before you book, but also to keep you comfortable on the day. I’m happy to arrange priority seating, but I need to know, to avoid over-booking resources on the day. Please note that our studio is up a flight of stairs – an alternative, lower gradient staircase is available on request. This is split into 3 sections. Regardless of which staircase is travelled, it’s in your own time. Unfortunately, a lift is not available. However, there is space to leave mobility aids such a mobility scooters downstairs.

If you have specific sensory needs, please get in touch. A weighted blanket, eye masks and ear plugs are available on request. These are limited in numbers, so please do let us know if you’d like to make use of them.

How to Get the Best From Your Session (Safely)?

  • Arrive 10 minutes before the official start time to land gently
  • Give yourself permission to “go with the flow”
  • Stay warm and distraction-free where possible (phones silent and away)
  • Take a quiet moment after the session before jumping back into your day
  • Do allow yourself to awaken sufficiently though before jumping back into your car!

What To Expect On The Day

  • Arrive 10 minutes early in reception at Eastthorpe Hall
  • Move upstairs to the relaxation studio to settle in and choose your space
  • Brief safety orientation
  • Mix of relaxing activities—from breathwork to quiet visualisation, depending on the session’s theme(s)
  • Sessions end with a gradual wake-up
  • Questions and check upcoming dates etc
  • Goodbyes are unhurried, giving you time to ease out gently and carry that calm into the rest of your day
