Hypnotic Universe was born (originally as Mirfield Hypnotherapy Centre) in the quiet town of Mirfield, nestled between the Pennine hills and the winding waters of the Calder and Hebble Navigation. It’s a place where history and stillness meet—home to contemplative spaces like the College of the Resurrection, the ancient St. Mary’s Church, and the gentle rhythm of canal walks that invite reflection. Our home is Eastthorpe Hall, a former award-winning health spa, where the scent of essential oils still lingers in the air and calm seems to settle into the walls themselves.
Founded by Louise Franks, a former nurse with over 15 years of experience in clinical hypnotherapy, Hypnotic Universe blends grounded professionalism with a deep respect for the imagination. Louise’s work is rooted in two passions:
- Helping people gain control over their life. For example, by overcoming fears and phobias, by gaining control of anxiety or giving up unwanted habits such as smoking and vaping.
- Bringing wellness into the everyday life of people just like YOU – whether it’s through guided relaxation, stress management, or simple, small acts of self-care that ripple outward.
I work with clients on a 1:1 or group basis, both online and face to face, here at Eastthorpe Hall and sometimes in their own home. Whatever your reason for coming to Hypnotic Universe you can expect my flexible approach and programmes to gently help you reach your goals – whether that’s rewiring outdated protective responses, guiding you into a deep state of calm through seasonal wellness sessions, or something else. Louise’s approach is always the same: warm, collaborative, and quietly transformative.
Hypnotic Universe’s Philosophy
Whether you’re visiting for my specialist fear and phobia clinic, or something else, I believe that hypnotherapy should feel like coming home to yourself. Even the most persistent fear is just a part of you trying to protect something important. And that calm isn’t a luxury—it’s a skill, a practice, and a birthright. The same can be said for anxiety, pain and any other issue for which clients may find themselves visiting.
My sessions are crafted with care, using evidence-based techniques, sensory-rich language, and a deep respect for the subconscious mind. Every word, every metaphor, every pause, every action is intentional.
