For those wanting to support people in small and local businesses, please check out the info below. As a small business owner, we’d love you to read and share it.
But why shop small anyway? Well, most small business can be classed as local businesses, and with that in mind, we found many good reasons to shop small and local, such as:
- We often have better customer service and are more likely to go the extra mile to make you happy. And we can do, because many of us are our own boss’ and therefore, set our own policies.
- We often have more flexibility when adapting products/services, to meet your needs.
- We give back more to our local communities. Many small business owners pay business taxes to local councils. That money goes towards supporting your local schools, roads and more. Many of us sponsor local community groups too, such as children’s’ sports teams.
- Because you travel fewer miles to get there, or can walk or cycle, your carbon footprint is reduced. Plus, it’s healthier for you. Bonus!
- Convenience is often better too, with many small businesses having a shop front and nearby parking. This can often be better for people with increased mobility needs.
- We create demand for local jobs. Many of us have employees from the local community, or buy in services from the local community. Thereby supporting our local community. These services often include commercial printers, graphic design, accountants, solicitors.lawyers, local media and newspapers etc.
- We support young people by offering opportunities for local children and young adults to do work experience with us. These placement students are often better supported and have more opportunities for 1:1 support due to better staff/student ratios.
And that’s just a handful of reasons. So, if you’re convinced now, we’d love to tell you how you could help your small and local therapy businesses.
