Now is the Right Time to Stop Smoking

14 April 2024 by Louise

Image of the brain and smoking related imagerySo, you’ve probably considered quitting smoking, perhaps even envisioning that day in the not-so-distant future. Undoubtedly, you’re well aware of the negative impact smoking has on your health. Maybe you’ve experienced that persistent cough or struggled to catch your breath. And let’s not forget the financial strain—that hard-earned money that could be better spent elsewhere. Yet, despite this awareness, you find yourself hesitating. The stressors of work or personal relationships weigh heavily, and you feel an immediate need to reach for that cigarette.

Sure, the promise of quitting looms, but you’re not entirely convinced you’re ready just yet.
But here’s the truth: now is the right moment. Always. Why? Because waiting for the perfect, stress-free time is a trap—one that can perpetually delay your decision. Such a perfect, stress-free moment rarely exists.

The Most Pervasive Habit

Smoking inserts itself into every corner of your life. Stress? You smoke. Feeling good? You smoke. Bad day? Cigarette in hand. Good news? Same routine. Sometimes it’s boredom. Sometimes it’s a craving for a mood shift. It’s always something.

Now, the big question: Is quitting daunting? With hypnosis, it needn’t be. In fact, it can be remarkably straightforward. All it takes is a resolute decision: this is it. This is the day!

The Impact of Stopping Smoking on Mental Health

Research from Oxford University’s (2022) Nuffield Department of Primary Care Health Sciences reveals that quitting smoking leads to improved mental well-being. Many smokers persist because they believe cigarettes offer mental health benefits—a calming effect or stress relief. However, these perceived benefits are often just an illusion. The temporary relief from stress is, ironically, a result of nicotine itself, perpetuated by the smoking habit.

The study found that those who quit smoking experienced reduced anxiety and depression levels. This insight is crucial because many anxious or depressed individuals mistakenly view smoking as a form of self-soothing.

Hypnosis is Your Friend When Quitting Smoking

Compared to relying solely on willpower or other methods, hypnotherapy offers distinct advantages:

  • No Side Effects: Hypnotherapy avoids drugs or harmful substances like nicotine, ensuring a clean break.
  • Boosting Motivation: Beyond quitting smoking, hypnosis inspires prioritizing your health.
  • Accessing Your Inner Mind: The hypnotic state allows personalized suggestions to take root.
  • Ease of Transition: Stopping becomes relatively straightforward—withdrawal symptoms and cravings minimised or even unnoticed.
  • Enhancing Self-Belief: Confidence in your ability to quit grows.

How My Stop Smoking Sessions Work

In a single session lasting approximately 60 to 90 minutes, I’ve successfully helped even long-term, heavy smokers quit. While guarantees don’t exist, each individual’s journey is unique. The decision to quit lies within your grasp.

Embracing a Smoke-Free Future

I routinely gather information on my success rates, so that you can have the most up to date information in this regard.Whilst it’s true that life offers no certainties, and each individual’s journey is distinct. However, you can bolster your odds of success by adopting strategies that have proven effective for others.

In my approach, I integrate hypnotherapy with:

  • Practical self-help techniques that will be invaluable not only during your transition but also as you embrace a healthier, smoke-free existence.
  • Specific work to reduce your triggers.

When altering habits or overcoming addictions, it’s advantageous to have an arsenal of healthy habits at your disposal. These could include:

  • Meditation
  • Self-hypnosis
  • Engaging in calming activities such as yoga
  • Taking leisurely walks outdoors
  • Gardening
  • Introducing a new hobby

Ceasing smoking is, without doubt, the most beneficial action you can take for your well-being, health, and longevity. The pride you’ll feel upon achieving this milestone will be immeasurable—it will stand as a testament to your determination, a triumph to be celebrated indefinitely!

Tempted?

So why delay? Perhaps you’re clinging to the dubious pleasures of smoking a little longer. Or maybe it’s self-doubt—an assumption that quitting is arduous. But remember, with hypnosis, it needn’t be!

The initial step is crucial. I invite you to reach out for further information. Together, we can embark on this transformative journey.
