It’s no secret that there are many misconceptions regarding hypnosis. Between stage shows where the hypnotist has people strutting around like chickens or forgetting their own name, to believing they’re the King and able to speak a Martian language. None of it shows hypnotherapy in a positive light.
So today I’d like to help reduce some of the misconceptions, starting with these 3 commonly spouted myths.
1. You are not asleep when you’re in hypnosis. You’re actually right at the junction where you’re asleep and awake. FYI you’re in this same state just as you wake up and just before you fall asleep.
2. You go into hypnosis many, many times in your day. For example, when you’re reading a really good book, watching a great TV show, and when you’re driving a familiar route.
3. You can’t get stuck in hypnosis. If you were to go too deep, you’d just fall asleep and be would wake when you’re no longer tired…or until I need the chair for my next client 🙂
I hope you found that interesting.
If you got this far, I’d like to reward you with a free relaxation audio track, which you can get from the QR code in the attached image.
It’s called a progressive relaxation and is great for helping you drift off to sleep. Don’t listen to it when driving or where you cannot switch off completely).
I hope you enjoy that little moment of stress relief. Have lovely week.
